h1ten has a spectacular aura about
chemistry errors in titration? How to improve?

Hi i have reacted Lithium with Water, collected the hydrogen, then with the LiOH did a titration with HCl, now i need to find out what errors/improves i could do?
Please help, Thank You and there will be 10 points for best answer!

1. make sure you correctly weigh Li and measure liquid volumes
2. add very little indicator during titration, check the color change on a white background.
3. add HCl drop by drop, carefully stirring all along
4. when a drop causes color change, stir. If color disappears, add another drop, if it doesn't you are done. This is the most common error people make. Indicator uses reactant, therefore causes a higher reading that the theoretical value.
5. when reading burette, make sure eye is at the same level with the marking and liquid level.

Places where errors could occur: I can't be very specific as you don't describe the procedures used, or have a diagram of the set-up etc. Most of the ways of reducing these problems should be self-evident.

Impurities in, or oxide film on, the lithium.
Errors in weighing the lithium.
Splattering/loss of material during reaction.
LiOH reacts with CO2 in air, may lead to errors, depending on how you do your experimant.
Leaks in system to collect H2.
If H2 collected over water, not compensating for partial pressure of water vapor at temperature of collection.
Errors in measuring the volume of H2 caused by difference in water level inside/outside collection vessel (this might not apply; depends on how you did the experiment).
Inaccuracy in determination of concentration of HCl.
Errors in getting the exact endpoint during titration.
Errors because the indicator does not change color exactly at pH 7.
Errors in reading the buirette for HCl volume.
Errors in any calculations carried out.
