Got a couple of Chemistry questions!!?

1. why does Cesium have larger atoms then Lithium?

2. There are more then a 1000 kinds of atoms, each of a different weight, yet there were only 116 known when as this book was being written...How do you explain this in terms of subatomic particles??

I would say the statement is nonsense. Who says that there are more than 1000 kinds of atoms? Do they mean theoretically possible? If so this would be when all the electron orbits are filled (spdf) and all the isotopes are created. They certainly do not exist on the earth.
In terms of subatomic particles they would all have different numbers of protons, neutrons, and electrons, with various other particles like muons, mesons, etc. thrown in.
