| chemistry-buffers? 1.Assume that 50 mL of 0.100 M HCl was added to 125 mL of 0.100 M sodium acetate. Is the resulting solution a buffer, why or why not? Calculate the pH of the resulting solution. The Ka of the acetic acid is 1.75 x 10^-5. 2. Suppose you wanted to make a pH = 4.25 buffer. What would be the best acid base system acetic acid/acetate or lactic acid/lactate? the Ka of lactic acid is 8.32 x 10^-4 and Ka of acetic acid is 1.75 x 10^-5. 3. Describe three ways you could make an acetic acid/acetate buffer with acetic acid, sodium acetate, deionized water, a solution of HCL and a solution of NaOH. please answer any of these three and show the work im soo confused! thank you soo much! |
