| Help with a chemistry question?
Metal ions lead, Pb2+, and manganese, Mn2+, are each present in 0.01 M concentration in a waste water sample. Hydroxide ions is added until the precipitation of Mn(OH)2 just begins. The lead will precipitate first. a) Calculate the concentration of OH- when Mn(OH)2 just begins to precipitate. (Mn(OH)2, Ksp 1.9 x 10^-13) b) Calculate the concentration of lead ion, Pb 2+, when the hydroxide concentration is the value calculated in a). (Pb(OH)2, Ksp = 1.2 x 10^-15) |
