Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer with so-so eyesight?

Ok so I've been wanting to be a rescue swimmer for a long time now. I'm getting ready to graduate and I've talked to my recruiter and researched alot of information. I've been preparing by doing all the necessary training and I'm even about to recieve my EMT certification and I've been studying for the ASVAB like crazy. The only thing I have a question about is eyesight? I'm not sure what my eyesight is but I know I need contacts to see. Without them things are pretty blurry but I have no problem with depth perception. I don't want to do all this stuff just to find out I can't be a swimmer because of my eyes. If my bad eyesight is the case will I be able to get corrective eye surgery once I get in and then be able to go to "A"? Any helpful info would be great. I just need to know if bad eyesight will disqualify me.
