I want to join the Coast Guard guide me through it please...?

Hi, I have a few questions
1) What Training will I have to go through If I do NATIONAL DEFENSE Training
2) Will I have to stay at their base or something?
3) How long will the Training be?
4) Does NATIONAL DEFENSE see action alot?
5) How much money will I get PAID
6) What do Beginners do when they enlist in the NATIONAL DEFENSE branch of the coast guard whats the first job theyre often handed?
anyone who has had expierience with the whole process please give me some specific details I really want to join.
7) Is the Coastguard something I will want to do for the rest of my life meaning if I have a family can I support them on my salary?
8) will married people get a higher pay?
thank you if you can answer these questions I would appreiate it so much.

The Coast Guard has eleven statutory missions: Alien Migrant Interdiction Operations (AMIO) , Defense Readiness, Drug Interdiction, Ports, Waterways and Coastal Security, Other Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue, Aids to Navigation, Marine Safety, Living Marine Resources, Marine Environmental Protection, and Ice Operations.
