What weapons are used in the U.S. Coast Guard?

I am looking at being a gunners mate in the Coast Guard. What weapons would I work on and what weapons (guns) does the CG use? What do you have to be in the CG to use those weapons? No jokes about the Coast Guard. If you think its stupid, you can go patrol our Nation's water ways and boders on your jon boat with your Marlin 336 30-30...
Yes. Rifles, Pistols, Shotguns etc. All the Guns. Not Cannons and stuff...the guns. M4's? Mossberg 590's? Beretta M9's?

I wish I knew. I applaud your decision. I love the Coast Guard and was married to a Chief Bosun's mate for over 16 years until he passed away. I can't remember what type of weapons they used. I know they had machine guns mounted on the bow of the vessel. I am also a retired ships Captain, but was not in the Coast Guard, wish I had of joined and was offered to start at an E-4. I should have done it in my younger years. I did however receive two awards by the Coast Guard even as a private citizen. I was awarded a bosun's pipe and a set of oars, it's been to many years and my mind is foggy. Good Luck to you. You have made a very wise choice. The Coast Guard is like one very large family. My husband was stationed at some wonderful places. Key West, Florida and South Padre Island, Texas were just two of them

Your question is vauge. Do you means crew served weapons, rifles, pistols?

ED J hit it right on the button. Typically, anything the other branches use, the CG will as well ie: M16A2, M9s, M240s...etc.
