USA Homeland security? What is rada? what does the system do?

I would like to know what is the RADA (sounds like that) on the US homeland security. When I was passing by the US from South America early this year, we were taken to a corner room and held for hours, when my turn to be interviewed came, I was asked some silly questions and evetually told that I have been put on RADA.

My actual intention was to enter the US for a day since my next flight was 22 hours away. I was however allowed to enter and dissapointed the officer who was fooled by my trip thinking that I was trying to stay in the US permanently.

When I left the following day, as i planned, I had no problem and was still wondering what purpose my name is serving on homeland security computers since I have never violated US immigration laws from about 7 entries in to the US since 2000. So what is rada?

RADA is a military electronics system. The Department of Homeland Security is now in charge of immigration.
