| Coast Guard and wait time for training school?
So. I was in the Navy. Now I am out of the Navy. I got a job as an English teacher, but I ended up not having the particular qualifications needed so they revoked the intent to hire. Now I am going Coast Guard. I have wanted to go Coast Guard from the begining anyway. I am putting my OCS package together. I am also enlisting. I am worried that if I don't make OCS and I have to wait for a training school.. what will I be doing? Will I be cleaning cutters? All manual labor? Some training schools have a 1 year wait. I am nervous about that wait time. I have also heard that most postions in the CG are overmanned. I am going in as an E-3 because I have a college degree. Will that help?
