Air Force or National Guard?

Hey guys, I'm wanting to join one of the armed forces, (please refrain from less then informative, and crude commentary about the another armed force...) The problem that i'm running into is that I currently have an issue about speeding objects wizzing passed my skull, and wish not to go overseas if possible, I've been told by a Marine, that only about half of the National Guard is going overseas, and the other half is on a 5 year rotation. I have been told that from an educational standpoint the Air Force is better, but the National Guard is safer... I'm really confused, can anyone give me some information about them? As I said, I really am interested in joining, but I would like more information (and not on in a recruiter who would only feed me what I want to hear...) Thanks everyone!

Well I think it all depends on what your job would be upon enlisting. I think either would be good but my personal preferance is the Air Force. I have a friend in the National Gaurd and he is getting ready to be deployed again and its only been about a year since he got back. So I would say the Air Force
