navy or pot?

i am supposed to leave for the navy very soon. i have of course stopped smoking pot about a month ago, but god i miss it so. i could always get a job as a waiter and go through college for my career path, and i'd have more freedom. my freedom is very important to me...as it is to everyone... but i could almost laugh at people dressing up in outfits and following a chain of command just to make a living(that is why i am going in at least). i just feel the military is going to strangle my passions, choices, and freedom. and if you do bad in the military you can lose all you worked for like that. i am lost at what to do... i think this may be a question i can only answer for myself, but do you got any advise for me? really lost and a bit fearful...thank you. ken
#3 has something, but you see, if i join the military i will be loyal to the end toward it. it is the thought of what i am to dedicate my life to, at least for 6-8 years.
i'm not passionate about smoking pot. pot just excites my creative juices and keeps my mind peaceful and serene.

Yes. I have some advise. Don't join. The THC in your system will probably show up during your physical exam. In addition, your other comments suggest you are not ready to make a commitment to serving in a capacity where you are part of a team dedicated to carrying out a mission. Your shipmates would be counting on you and the attitude you are expressing in your comments show me that you are going to come up short.
Go to college. Enjoy the benefits of that civilian life and have a wonderful future without having to wear those funny outfits and have all of those freedoms dampened.

If you're only joining the military "to make a living." Why would you risk dying for your country if, like you said, you could just choose some mediocre job like being a waiter.

The military is for corageous men and women who are willing to fight for our country. That's the main purpose of having a military - not so that young potheads could make a living.

Find something you are passionate about, aside from smoking pot, and make something of yourself. Do something you could honestly take pride in and leave the military up to others like my husband who take pride in that, hold their heads up high, and are passionate about serving our country.

Heyo

So im about to join the air force and had to have a smokeathon with friends to get that last ultimate high in

I feel better now that im not smoking, more organized, uhhh a better citizen

pot really just is great, but for me i lost focus on my schooling and such.

military is already giving me a sense of accomplishment and all ive done is taken the asvab and such

only problem is im scared shitless i wont get in cuz i might not pass the urine test

you can only go with what you feel like, but i just feel like a more respectable/responsible person taking the military route

itll be an experience far past what college and pot smoking would be, and who says you cant do that when your out... for free = )

good luck in your decisions

Get off the pot. There is nothing wrong with living a disciplined life for a few years. Who knows you may find it to be for more rewarding then smoking your life away.
