Eh, depends what you go in to. But there is one in MD and CT. See the link below. Also, I talked to the guys on navy.com/chat and these are some things I found out: Sailors in "A" school have more freedom and can use the phone or purchase a cell phone, internet or buy a laptop (but keep in mind wireless internet is not authorized), and write letters. Each individual "A" school will set their own individual policies for visitors, Leave and Liberty. In most cases, visitors will be allowed in common rooms, such as a recreation room, but are not permitted in student barracks rooms. Visitors are not permitted to stay overnight. Most "A" schools use a phase system for such transitional periods, and each student earns certain privileges per phase... such as overnight weekend liberty versus a daily evening curfew. Off-base privileges are permitted, however, this may depend on the student's phase in training. Leave is granted based on the length of the school, and scheduled breaks or holidays that would fall into your set curriculum. Most schools lasting more than 60 days permit students to take Leave for Christmas time, but the schools will set up the rotations and permissions based on requests. A student is responsible to learn all of the policies upon reporting to "A" school, so you can be sure as soon as s/he arrives, they will be informed of the current policies. Hope that helps! |
