My boyfriend of 1 year is joining the coast guard in 2 months.?

I'm planning to go to college in Georgia and continue on to med school. He will be in basic training during the summer, and will then be posted wherever he is needed. Frankly, I'm terrified. I love him, but in the long run I don't know if this will work out. Eight years of school where I can't move around with him? I don't know if he'll need to move too much, but even if he doesn't what happens when he's posted too far away for me to see him? I know people might think I'm not committed enough for the relationship to work by saying all this. I am willing to try and make it work, I'm just scared and in need of a bit of support.

When in the millitary your put where your needed. The coastguard however is typically a local thing. He'll probably be stationed in his own county. Besides, You can still write him. And he isnt going to war you know. The coast guard is basically like the ocean's national guard. He'll be fine. Just focus on your studies for now.
