United States Coast Guard Scuba Diver?

How do you become a diver for the USCG? Do you have to be an officer? Other than scoring high on your ASVAB test I havnt seen many restirctions? Also, what is a day like for a USCG diver? Any ideas?

if you have prior diving experience it would expedite the process and training involved when striving to be a USCG diver.

but I would say an avg. day as a USCG diver is pretty dull. that would also depend on where you're stationed.

You may be confused. The USCG has elite rescue swimmers, not divers. They are enlisted. Furthermore, if you want to be a diver, you want to go to the USN Diving School.

I don't remember coming across this, but I would guess you have to have flexible tympanic membranes (you can pop your ears) for deep dives.
