I'm a 26 year old female interested in joining the Coast Guard. Looking for

opinions and advise please.? I started working as a Travel Advisor right out of High School (5 years experience), and now I'm working for a Wetsuit Company. At age 26 I'm bored with my line of work and need to set myself up for the future. The Coast Guard sparks my interest and from the research I've done, seems like a great opportunity. I love the water, have been boating (ski/wakeboard) most of my life and love to surf.
I'm nervous to make such a big life change and also have concerns about my age (is it too late?) Please give me some feedback. Any women in the CG that could give advise? I'd love to hear from anyone who can help?

26 is not old. if you are interested in the cg, then by all means go talk to them and get some insight. you will benefit from serving, plus serve your country. what could be better than that? if you dont do it, no matter if if works out for you or not, you will regret for the rest of your life not giving it a try. 20-30 years from now you will be saying "oh i wish i did that" or"i wish i did it while i had the choice" if it turns out to be not for you, when your enlistment is up you can walk away knowing you had enough sense to give it a shot.
