Dan has a spectacular aura about
air force officer?

I want to join the air force. I am not sure if I should join right after high school or wait until I get a degree and become an officer. Does it matter what your degree is in to get a certain job? If yes, what job requires a degree in History? Political Science?

Yes, it actually does matter what your degree is in and what your QPA is.

The Air Force doesn't have much need for english or history majors.

They are generally looking for technicial majors.

It is easier, to be commissioned with a non technicial degree, if you are already enlisted, than as a civilian.

As to which you should do, that depends on what you want to do.

If you want to be an officer and can pay for college,

Then the best bet, is to go to college first, maybe take AFROTC while in college.

If you cannot afford college, then go enlisted, earn your degree and then apply for a commission.

It doesn't matter what your degree is in, it just has to be a Bachelors Degree.
