should you try in boot camp, rtc in the navy?

ok I know you should TRY but
should you volunteer yourself for things? I thought i would give 200% effort when i was there, fi they asked for volunteers, volunteer myself, just always be on top of everythign and give it all i got.

now i'm reading alot of people sayign don't stick out, don't volunteer, just be there and blend in?

what is yoru experience?

also, does what happens in boot camp effect you in any way ? does it matter if you do good or bad or just pass. i mean i knwo everyoen in the navy passes but if you are outstanding as apposed ot the guy who had to stay an extra week ro somethign does it matter?
