Navy life... or school.?

I am debating whether or not to join the USN. I want to become a corpsman (HM). I am 19 years old and have had a serious gf for almost three years. She is a concern to me but my bigger concerns are if I am making the right choice. I am in the middle of my first semester of community school and dont feel like school is right for me , for the moment.

I want to enlist under the National Call to Service Contract. And after I finish my 15 months after A school i will be a veteran, which is very admirable I feel. Following my active duty service I will be a reserve and plan on going back to school to persue my degree and also to one day become an officer ( if i do in fact enjoy the Navy.)

I just want some opinions of what people think. I mean does that sound like im giving up on school or am i in reality trying to help myself out?
