Marines, it has its own Navy, Air Force, and Army. When the Army first invaded Iraq, they couldnt do the job so they pulled back. The Marines were sent in to clean up http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a1/WW2_Iwo_Jima_flag_raising.jpg |

neither. i don't think i could take a life or kill innocent people. in war innocent people are always in the crossfire. i support the people are soldiers but not, war. too many lives end needlessly. and another reason i would never join the military is that they don't really take care of the veterans. i can fight for you but when i get home i'm not treated fairly. most of the homeless are war veterans, not to mention the countless soldiers who come home w/PTSD b/c of the things they have both seen and did. i'm sure it has driven many of them crazy. |

It really depends on what you're looking for... I've been in the USAF for almost 18 years and I joined because I wanted the benefits (GI Bill, health care) without being a front liner. If you're gung-ho, go with the marines or Army. If you want to serve but are a bit more reserved like me, then maybe the AF or Navy is for you. I've done two tours in Iraq and I can tell you, my Army brothers are bearing the brunt of the war. I've been through 120+ rocket attacks, but it's nothing compared to an IED or direct fire. All of the services offer the same pay and the same benefits. The only difference would be hostile fire pay, jump pay, etc and possibly signing bonuses. I say go with the simple rule of do what will make you happy coming to work for your enlistment (4 or 6 years). |

Air Force....they have the best training, the best housing, the best food, and on base amenities. Plus you will most likely not be on the front line (God Bless those who are). I had the best time of my life while I was in the Air Force!
