How bad is the swimming/water stuff in the Coast Guard basic training?

I'm thinking of joining the Coast Guard. I'm not really afraid of the water, but I'm not really that good at swimming or anything.
Actually, I'd be doing the shortened prior service kind of basic. But, I'm guessing that'd be the water part. I mean, they don't hold you underwater or anything like that, do they? I was in the Air Force, I know they have the easiest basic. So, I don't know what a tough basic training would be like.
