Sonja B has a spectacular aura about
community service?

I'm looking to perform some community service. I am interested in "adopting" a grandparent. However, I'm having a hard time finding an organization that facilities the pairing of elder to younger person. I live in Virginia Beach. Does anyone know of any national organizations I can contact? How to contact them? Thanks.
I rather not go to a nursing home, but someone who lives on their own and needs some support/help.

Time is very valuable and the time spent helping grandparents is wonderful. Here is what I would do.

Help out with taking food to the shut-ins in your area. To locate them, churches and food banks do this daily.

Then when you bring these people food, you will be able to make friends with them and develop a friendship that you can nurture as your time sees fit.

thank you for your volunteering heart
