Should I apply to Stanford?

I'm about to become a high school senior. I really want to apply to Stanford, but I'm a bit intimidated by the competition. My ACT scores are good, but not stellar. I have a 27. I have yet to take the SAT, and I know the normal range would be a 2100+. I don't have the perfect GPA, because I have already made 3 Bs. (Honors Chemistry, Honors PreCalculus, Honors Anatomy/Physiology) I will be taking the most rigorous courses offered (only 3 AP credits offered at my school).I'm very involved in school. I am the student council president, vice president for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and I am a member of my school's academic team, National Honor Society (was given a leadership position 1st year), NCSS, and I run cross country and play tennis. (varsity) I am also doing community service.I'm also determined and I'm not satisfied until I do my best. I try to take advantage of every opportunity and make the best of every situation.Should I bother applying?I want to go to Stanford because it is a well-rounded school and it encompasses everything I've wanted. When I think of the perfect college experience, I think of Stanford.I also want to go to a college far away from home. I honestly don't feel at home here and I feel a bit hindered by living where I live now.I know the school is expensive, but something else that appeals to me is the generous financial aid program they have for students.

sounds like you have an impressive school life, but ivy league schools always look for something that sets you apart from the rest..you need to focus on having something under your belt nobody else will have...

Just apply. I'm applying and I don't have the best stats.

Just apply anyway, because you never know what could happen. If you don't get into Stanford, you should still get into plenty of other competitive schools.

Should I apply to Stanford?

Make sure you can afford it, my best friend from high school got a full scholarship to play football at Stanford. It would have set him back 50k a year.

Should I apply to Stanford?

Just apply anyway! find a particular passion of yours that sets you apart from the sea of applicants, and makes Stanford reciprocate your interest. Show them you're not just another overachiever, but someone who can diversify and enrich their campus.
