| how can i raise my gpa?
i have one semester left and my gpa from the other semesters [not including the one i just ended] is a 1.5. how can i raise this to a 3.7? i realize its impossible even if i got 100s but is there anything i can do like independent studies or community service that can make a difference? i really dont want to have to go to a junior college for years just to raise it. im willing but id rather not.and dont preach to me pls.im not stupid and im getting 90s at school now its just that i had to drop out for half a year because i was suicidal whenever i went to school. i ended up transferring schools and i really want to get into a good college. if people werent so damn quick to judge theyd realize people do have issues. stfu.

Well you can talk to your teachers and see if they are willing to allow you to redo your big projects and missing assignments. If you have a lot of zeros it makes your grade go down a lot. If you explain how you feel, your teachers just might allow you to make up assignments. But in the next years you should keep your grades up, that is what I do.

No, there's no way you can get your GPA up to a 3.7 in one semester after having 7 semesters of 1.5. Independent studies count as a course and will take as much time as a course, so you might as well just take another course. And community service does not affect your GPA. If you want to go to college, it's community college for you. But with that GPA, I'm not sure why you want to go to college - it's just going to be harder and expect more work from you.You can't get your GPA much higher than a 1.8 with only one semester left. People who get a 3.7 have been working for it for 4 years - it's not fair for someone who decided they wanted a high GPA right before they graduated to be able to get one.

Mathematically, that is impossible. Your gpa is based on the average of the points that you have earned for each grade. An "A" is worth 4, a "B" is worth 3 and down the line. In one semester, you wouldn't be able to raise your gpa to a 3.7 even if you did get all A's. The best thing to do is to go to junior college for two years and work really, really hard. When you transfer, the colleges will be looking more closely at your community college gpa to determine whether you will be successful. Get good grades and get involved in activities on campus. Try to make honor roll and maybe get into the community college honor society. That's the best way to get into college at this point. Good luck!
