| What are my chances of getting into Northwestern, U of chicago, NYU, Tufts, UPENN, Berkeley, ucla, etc?
approx. 3.7 unweighted gpa (3 ap's so far, probably 3-4 senior year),Leadership camp every summer since 8th grade except for this summergood amount of community service but not so much in high school, VP/president of club 4 years, great writing skills, female, interested in the field of business, good teacher reps, university volunteer work, etc., 1640 SAT, took the ACT in june, but feel I am going to do better at it than the SAT, 440 SAT II subject test ap us history, 470 SAT subject II english literature... going to retake the english for sure, not certain about the history though... and I'm going to take the Bio Sat II Subject Test. What does it seem like I need to add to get into these schools and possibly other schools that seem like a good fit for me. Also, how high would I need my test scores to go? Is my unweighted GPA too low? Thanks!

The one thing you have not done that you MUST do to be considered for any of these schools is to apply to them.Without applying to the school, your chances are dramatically diminished.

If u are out of state UCLA berkeley are impossible they only have a certain number of slots for out of staters. Even in state u probably wouldn't make it in! I got a much higher SAT score than you and I smoked a 2 gram blunt before taking it! U pretty much didn't learn much all through HS to get that crappy of an SATI'd give u a chance of 1 in 400! HAHAHAHHA Sorry but u don't even come close to their average test scores and GPA!OH IF U AREN'T A MINORITY THEN I'D GIVE U A CHANCE OF 0!

your unweighted gpa should be fine at 3.7, but as usual do your best. if you pull a 4.0 next year that would boost it perhaps to a 3.8 or 3.82. your SAT seems reaaaaallly low to me though. on a 2400 possible, i think you would do well to pull it up. the extracurriculars are great and you must have an impressive résumé but you should be up to at least 1900. try taking a course and studying some more. try and interview and maybe even early decision for your favorite school. good luck

Things don't look good for you for those schools. However, I think you will egt into some excellent schools.Your GPA is a little low -- but not so low that doing well next year wouldn't take care of that. But your SAT scores is about 400 points below the 75th percentile for those schools -- and I think that will keep you out.

We as outsiders cannot possibly give you an intelligent answer. Even if you meet all the academic standards, that's still no guarantee you'll get in. It completely depends on the pool of applicants for this particular year. Some universities such as Harvard accept only about 10-15% of their applicants, and turn away many qualified students every year. Many colleges also have various quotas to meet so that a balanced number of diverse students will receive acceptance letters. And certain individuals may be accepted based not so much on their merits & achievements, but their connections or family members who are successful alumni.I don't want to discourage you, and appreciate your desire to have some answers. But in large part, it's a roll of the dice. A student with exactly the same qualifications as you may be rejected one year and accepted the next. All I can tell you is do everything you can, hope for the best, and make the best choice from the schools that do decide to accept you.

Your SAT is significantly below the middle 50% range for these schools. Your GPA is also not that impressive for the average for most of these schools will be around 3.8-3.9. Your best bet is to try to radically increase your SAT score or only apply to schools that are SAT optional like Holy Cross, Bowdoin, and Bates. These latter are the best of a growing number of SAT optional school. Complete list at www.fairtest.org
