I want 2 make a network of 5 computers, please help me out.?

5 pcs are there, i want to make a network with the usb cable with the 1st pc. i hv data in my 1st pc. i want to run internet and take out the data from 1st pc in other 4 pcs attached by usb to usb port. What are the steps I should do. plz help me out my techy friends.

I'm doing a lot of computing, but never tried, or searched for connecting few PCs with USB. If you want internet you must buy a router. IF you want a wireless network(for laptops) buy a router with wireless function. For making a connection between two PCs you need a LAN cable.

Im not sure what your your trying to do but if but if you want to transfer data from one pc to another and let all computers access the internet then you need a router and a switch or hub(should have around 8 ports).

Connect your router to your phone line and then use an ethernet cable to connect your switch to your router. Then connect all pc to your switch using ethernet cables.

Your next step would be to set up a home network. if your using windows xp on all pc's this should be a breeze. You can just use the Network setup wizard tool.
