| Network adapter disappears randomly when powering on computer, returns on
restart....? I have had this issue for a while and have yet to figure it out. 75 percent of the time, when I power on my computer, the network icon will show a red X. If I go and try to resolve the problem, I get a message telling me their is no network adapter. Then I look in Device Manager, and sure enough, there is no longer a network adapter.
However, I then restart the computer and the network adapter and connectivity returns. The connection is not loose and nothing seems loose inside the computer though neither one of those seem likely anyways.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium
Any ideas anyone? Thanks

I see what your saying, however, the pattern doesnt seem to fit those explanations. It doesnt just turn off on me or disappear when Im using it. Only sometimes when turning on the computer after it's been off for a bit. Then a simple restart brings back the Network Adapter. It's very strange.
