| Why don't my transfer credits affect my G.P.A. but they would at another school?
I’m considering a transfer to Texas State after two years at the University of Texas – Arlington but the credit hours I transferred from community college to Arlington DID NOT count towards my G.P.A. and they will count at Texas State. My G.P.A. would go from 3.0 to 2.0 if those community hours counted against me. Should I just not even transfer?

Every school does things differently when it comes to transfer credits. I know Penn State accepts many classes from all across the country (so long as they are a C or better grade) but those classes do not effect the GPA. So if you're at Texas State and have a 2.5 GPA, transfer to Penn State and get a 4.0 at Penn State then you graduate from Penn State with a diploma with a 4.0 GPA. Make sense?
