Where does my credit score rank?

I am a 22 yr old male with a credit score of 783... is this good? How does it compare to US avgs? I just graduated school and have landed a decent job so I am looking to buy a nice vehicle (BMW or Audi) and want to make sure that this score would be sufficient with my income.

Also, I've heard checking your credit score lowers it... is this true? I'm just kind of new to this thats all.
