Did Judas kiss the right man? Or was he credited with saving Jesus?

Legends say afterward Judas either hung himself (lynched), or jumped (thrown) off a cliff. Did Judas know too much like Hitler did?

One usually hears that guilty feelings caused Judas Iscariot to do away with himself. He may have realised that his betrayal of Jesus was a greater burden than he could bear. Desperate men do desperate things. His 30 pieces of silver (? dunno how much that is worth) may have been 'dirty money' and he was unable to justify his actions.
