| Are you one of those who label as haters, folks who resist changes to our society, culture and laws by Gays? If so, why?
Gays seek to change our laws, our society and culture in a way that we disagree with. As citizens we are all free to vote, lobby, organize and influence the legislative process in such a way that conforms with our morals, ethics, views and beliefs. All laws infringe on the freedoms of some in our culture. I have freedom of speech, but can't yell "fire" in a crowded theatre. I have a constitutional right to own guns, yet every state has laws which limit my rights. Polygamists cannot marry. NAMBLA cannot have sex with children (yet). I can't play loud music whenever I want. I can't marry my sister (who is sterile) even if I love her. etc, etc, etc. So please don't cry to me about infringing on the rights of gays. This "right" to marry was never granted them in the history of western civilization. So please stop calling people who exercise their rights as American citizens as haters, merely because you have an opposing view. |
