I just made a huge mistake?

tonight was Senior night at my school and the Senior class always gives it's members one last gift. these gifts are supposed to be kinda bitchy. the 3 girls in charge couldnt think of anything to leave my friend "Amy". Amy used to date this guy who had red hair and she gave him the code name BigRed. (the relationship ended badly). so, when one of the girls asked me what they should give amy, the first thing that popped into mind was Big Red gum. (they knew the story, and said that they didnt think so.) so, tonight it was amy's turn, and they did give her the gum. she is really upset about it and I think her parents are going to be mad too. I dont know why I said anything at all. she doesnt know I told them "Big red". should I confess and apologize or just forget about it because it's really doubtful that i ever see her again.I'm really not a mean person and I have no idea why I said anything. I regretted it as soon as it came out of my mouth. 2 of my friends know that I 'm the one who brought it up.

I would just let it go. She shouldn't have been upset by it unless she had been really bitchy to that guy with the red hair.

It was just a joke.. and it was probably something that just popped right into your head... if she dont bring it up dont say anything but if she does confess... sometimes we dont actually think before we say things

Confess and apologize to her. Tell her that it just popped out of your head and you didn't know what you were thinking.
