Why do I have more enemies than friends? It makes me feel depressed.?

I'm a junior in high school and i just came to my new school in sophmore year. Immediately I adapted but somehow I managed to make more enemies than friends. Today, when i was a final contestant along with my friends in the spelling bee, almost everyone boo-ed at me; except some of my friends. It made me felt that everyone hated me more than they liked me. Although I am sometimes arrogant and not that nice, I mean no harm. Maybe it's because I never want to get hurt by people anymore? Maybe it's because I have poor social skills? Yes, I am a hard person, i don't want to be taken advantage of. I don't know what to think of this world no more. I always had the mentality that its only 1 more year left to go, senior year and I will be out. However I am scared this is going to happen in college again. So, can someone suggest why is that I have more that hate me than love me?Tunia~ I do notice that, that if you nice to someone, that person would be nice to you. I guess I do have to be more nice and not be hardened by past experiences.

Some of that hate is probably jealousy and envy. Just be yourself and understand that no matter what, you will always have haters. The nicest person on this planet can't stop people from disliking him or her.

In college, things are different. You don't know everyone, there are so many students. Plus it is easier to find a group of people who are a better fit for you. So I don't think you should worry about college. There are always some people who dislike us. It's good you have some friends anyway, so why worry? People will get used to you and many will probably change their minds about you as time goes by. Perhaps they feel you do not like them? If so, there is plenty you could do to make them see this is not true. Once they feel they are being liked, they will like you back. Lol - just a suggestion - not sure if it applies.
