Conflict is a natural outcome to striving for resources. Societies within any culture have needs for growth. This grow is metered by resources. There is still a frontier mentality that has been carried along with the push West and the "Manifest Destiny" doctrine that affects American society. The truth is there are limited resources. We have known this for 150 years. but, there is still this urge to "Go West" To change; is the law of nature. So too, the influx of the many cultures that blend together with the American ideals will change it. Hope springs eternal that we can survive and thrive in the coming changes. Conflict resolution can come only through education and understanding of shared resources. We have to keep ourselves from stripping the land bare and leaving nothing for our friends who come tomorrow. Think Recycle Reuse and Green.

conflict is inevitable because by human nature we fear what we don't know, for example people of different faiths or ethnicity, who have different cultural ways that we don't understand. we need to find ways for people to get to know each other. for example every year at my sons school they have Harmony Day. on this day you wear orange to show harmony with all people, you bring a flag or poster depicting your background and a plate of food from the country you are from to share with your class mates. it's an awesome day
