| Should I Study Russian or Mandarin Chinese?
Learning difficulty is no problem for me; I learned Chinese previously and found it not too hard. But I am kind of interested in the Russian language and culture now, too. I am a science major in college by the way.Which would have the better and/or more job opportunities do you think? Thanks.

Defiantly Chinese. It is the culture of the future. World dominant influence has been moving west for thousands of years. China is next. This that can deal with the Chinese and speak the language will prosper.

As someone who loves all things Russian and speaks good Russian, I would love to encourage you to learn Russian. However in terms of career prospects, I think Mandarin is likely to be more beneficial because of the emerging Chinese markets. Russia is still fairly insular and likely to remain so for the foreseeable future.

A lot of the scientific papers and journals are written and published in Russian nowadays. A graph from a job site says you can have a better job outlook with Russian.
