ha, you would be living in what would be a native American life. there were tribes long ago where the woman had complete control of the entire clans. We had clan matrons that were the head of the villages. the wife owned all possessions, the children stayed with the mother and were descendants of her clan only. Women divided the lands to what was to be used for planting, hunting, gathering. if there were disputes it was seen to by a council of women. If the wife wanted nothing to do with the man anymore, she simply set his stuff outside and that was the end of it. The men are married off to other clans, and go to their womans place to support that clan...ie, hunt, fish, become a warrior for them. now this was not for every native nation. there are many tribes that were male oriented. These tended to be tribes that were roaming tribes, those tribes that moved their camps with the seasons. but this in no way means we did not respect our men, or seek their council. I'm apart of the Tlingit Nation. And we too practice this. I'll always be forever my mothers daughter. my children will follow me, as will their children. and we wouldn't have it any other way.
