the mainstay of any society is actually agriculture. our stomach need the food to work harder to produce capitalist goods and to feed materialism / consumerism. this is something wh we tend to forget. it was fr the necessities of the agricultural sector that spurred the industrial revolution in the 1800s. the culture of the white man / their need for the goods of the east that led to great voyages of discovery. columbus / magellan / drake went round the world looking for tea / spices. and india had it and still has it all. so the magnet is there. but now with capitalism we need to see the ethics of it - sheer profiteeering and neglect of the agricultural sector will lead to grave consequences
