my grandmother is a senior citizen who needs home improvements?

i have a grandmother who is a 71 year old retired nurse. Her kitchen ceiling is caving in along with many other big things going wrong with her home she does not want to sell because she's lived there for years. My father use to keep it up but he was killed 3 years ago and i have heard there are grants or programs that come in and make the improvements she lives in alliance, ohio and i wanted to know if there are any such programs.
