What is up with Dance?

I, being a dancer, am fed up with this:

How come no one considers dance a sport? I mean seriously, if dance were easy, it would be football. Dance, especially ballet, requires extreme strength. You need to be able to jump high enough to do the splits in your grande jete leap, you need to have strong ankles and extreme balance to go up en pointe, you need to be able to do the hardest steps and makeing it look so easy, you need to be able to perform with such grace, you could cry. Dance is so much harder than the sports we do: football, soccer, tennis, track, basketball.

Get this true fact:
One three hour ballet performance requires the stamina (energy) of TWO 90-minute soccer game (or three hours of soccer) AND an EIGHT (or was it eighteen?) mile run.

Has anyone ever seen 'The Gaem Plan' I thought it was a very cheesy show, but it showed just how hard dance really is! It's true, a football player can't do this stuff!

Dance is defiantely a sport to me! Please comment.
