What is your argument against pornography and stripping?

If you are PRO porn or nude dancing, please do not answer. I am trying to find out what people's arguments are from mostly a human dignity or feminist/anti-objectification stand point.

to me pornography and nude dancing is just like saying "hey guys, we're women, this is what we're good at and what we're mainly for. my boobs and thighs are the center of womenhood"thats what it's saying. its offensive really becuase i know women are much more then sex. thats how we are viewed since day one, is just sex objects. nude should be sacred. billions of people shouldnt know what you look like without clothes. i just dont understand how anybody can get out and do something like that.

Pornography is classed as a male social problem and is addictive. The male become focused on his own sexual gratification and often like any addiction seeks higher levels of thrill to feed his addiction. This is associated to many social problems. Pornography also creates a culture that sees women as sex object with no opinions or emotions. Stripping devalues a woman( many times these women are drug abuses) to feed a male culture of sexual exploitation.

Not sure whether you mean from the point of view of watching it, or doing it.From the point of view of watching porn, I am against it because I have learned, from spending time on the Marriage and Divorce section on this site, and from hearing from women on other sites, that it causes great misery to many women when their husbands focus on whores on the Internet rather than on their wives. Also it appears in some cases to cause the men concerned to lose interest in their wives altogether, and to want only to masturbate to porn rather than having sex with their wives, which is pretty revolting. For a man to watch strippers is something I find slightly less disturbing if it is in a social context, i.e. if he's just gone to a strip club for a laugh with a group of friends, or a bachelor party (stag night) or something. If he was making a habit of going regularly on his own, then I would find that very disturbing, it would indicate an obsession rather than just a social occasion. From the point of view of actually doing it, then I would see stripping as slightly less repellent than performing sex acts on the Internet, I mean a stripper is only taking her clothes off (I presume) rather than having sex in front of an audience. But in either context, it's not exactly a desirable way to earn a living, is it? I mean, I always think "is it something I would want my daughter to do?"(if I had one) and the answer to that would be a definite No. and if it's not all right for MY daughter, then it's not all right for anyone else's, in my opinion.

Feminism is all about free choice and opportunities. We all have a choice. That makes it absolutely none of my business.

I enjoy porn with my wife and I have gone to strip bars with my friends. It is morally wrong but there is no way to stop it. The women up there stripping are NOT forced to do it. They make the choice to do it and it is not the man's fault for thier immorality or for doing it, the stripping, themselves.

What is your argument against pornography and stripping?

Pornography is the root cause of the bizarre increase of violent crimes towards women (and children). Rape being one of the more popular violent crimes.Every study ever done proves it increases apathy towards women, "women issues" in our society and increases VIOLENT CRIMES towards women AND CHILDREN. There's an undeniable DIRECT CORRELATION.Pornography is very caustic/harmful towards women and children's quality of life, social standing/respect and safety. The United State Government (USG) knows this but the FCC has cowed down to the multi-billion dollar industry about twenty years ago using a thinly veiled excuse: The First Amendment. This is ludicrous... since any person who would publicly describe IN WORDS what goes on in these videos would be arrested.Additionally, the founding mothers and fathers never foresaw or visualized video or its affects on human behavior.Humans process video using different parts of the brain than they do when reading or listening or speaking. When processing visual data, humans tend to by-pass some logical safeguards in their mental processes. The USG know this, as well, but does nothing to protect women and children from the heinous crimes resulting from the horrific pornography in our society. Each generation of girls/women have to relearn the same hard lessons over and over again. The problem is by the time they learn those lessons, they are usually past 40 and many men care even less of what they think by that time.(Remember… "Pornography Stars" tend to be under 40 years old and the USG is a pornographic society. It’s plain and simple. There are no "ands", "ifs" or "buts" about it…)The USG needs to grant women Constitutional Equal Rights... And "No!" women do not really have equal rights in the eyes of the law until this is accomplished. Women are over half the United States population and should have True Constitutional Equal Rights. Women ARE America! The USG needs to stop these violent crimes against women (and children). The USG has the technology and the means to do this. The sad thing is that some services in the USG Military, excuse CONVICTED felons of "petty crimes" and admit them into the Military. And yes... rape is considered by The Department of Defense as a "petty crime". (It is not a petty crime and I strongly disagree with this practice.) Next time you see a man in the service, remember you may be looking at a convicted felon... One can never be too careful.Hope this helps!BTW: Nudity does not translate directly into pornography. Some tribes of the Native American people believed that nudity represents spiritual freedom... Native Americans should not have been genocide for being different. However, the sick reality is that they were and at the hands of a Bible-thumping pornographic-minded invading society...

What is your argument against pornography and stripping?

Rather than banning them I would like to see more education and programs designed to treat men and women who are addicted to this type of stuff. Some can handle this stuff and some cannot. My personal view:Stripping is objectification. I've never been to a strip club and won't be going to any. But if other guys want to pay the entry fee and waste their money its their business. I prefer erotica over porn because porn shows no communication, depicts un-realistic sex and is I believe responsible for a lot of abuses when it comes to oral. My biggest personal objection to porn is all the deep-throating. As I said though, some can handle watching the stuff and some cannot. I worry most about people trying the stuff that can get dangerous or turn into rape. By that I mean a woman objecting to a guy pulling on her hair and jerking her head and guy ignoring her objections while she's performing oral. A lot of people count an episode like this as a bad sexual experience. I view it as rape. I personally believe porn is responsible for a lot of disfunctional sex due to the inability of some to seperate fantasy from reality. But that's just one man's opinion.
