Is this okay for a guy to wear for a semi-formal dance?

my bf wore this on his mothers wedding he is the tall guy with glasses ...right of his mother.

maybe it's too dresses up for a dance. He should wear it with dark jeans, and without the vest
oh and with other shoes.

That's pretty dressy... I'd say make it more simple with some ironed dark jeans. Keep the shoes, and the top works.

Most semi-formal dances, guys wear suit shirts & jackets + jeans.

My recipe for semi-formal.

well since its semi-formal i would suggest maybe weraing jeans with the button up shirt and tie and losing the vest.
