Father Daughter Dance? Is the song The Worlds Greatest by R Kelly appropriate for my father/daughter dance? Also, is it okay if my partner dances with his mum during my Father/Daughter dance? and even then have another song where I dance with his father and he dances with my mother? or is it best to do that just during the dancing that'll occur for the rest of the evening? The wedding and reception wont be overly traditional, just a relaxed Aussie beach style wedding... and just a big party for the reception in a Fijian resort. We're having a strict traditional Fijian wedding two days earlier... so the wedding im speaking of we just want to be relaxed and fun and more of a party. Does this sound okay? Any other advise would really be appreciated. He's planning the Fijian wedding with his family, and I'm planning the Aussie style wedding as we're in different countries from each other over 50% of the time. Its pretty tricky not getting to plan together.

As someone that is currently planning a wedding, I can say bride to bride--do what is going to make you happy. I have spent so much time trying to make sure that everyone is happy, that I forgot for a bit that this wasn't about them, it was about my fiance and I. If that is the song that you want, then by all means, use it. We are going to have a different spin on the Father/Daughter dance cause my father lives in Missouri and won't be there, so my fiance and my daughter are going to have a dance to Ready, Set, Don't Go by Billy ray and Miely Cyrus. Congrats on your wedding!

I would have your dance with your new hubby, a father daughter and mother son dance combo, then maybe the first half of a song with you, your husband, and all the parents out there then in the second half of the song have the mc invite the guests out on the dance floor. You can do whatever you want of course, but it is really boring for the guests to sit and watch all the dedicated dances.

Okay... I've played over 800 weddings in my 16 year carreer with a band. The one think that is a constant is: it's the brides day... if she wants somethings... she should have it. SO yes its sounds okay. For the dad - daughter dance... Tim McGraw has a "my daughter" song There's butterfly kisses there's also Daddy's little gal and any song that may be special to you both! Once a gal used "take me out to the ball game"... and had the band (mc) explain her fondest memory was the time she when fishing with her dad - and he surprised her by taking her to an orioles game. This happended because she was the single girl in the family and she had 6 brothers, and she missed doing "BOY STUFF"... and told her dad, and he created a DAD/DAUGHTER day... where he did the same stuff with HER he would with his sons. BE sure you have a BAND/DJ with the right attitude. Right attude is the following 5 rules: 1) the bride gets whatever she wants 2) see #1 3) See above 4) Follow the trend of 1, 2 and 3 and finally 5) What the Bride says.... goes.
