didn't make the dance team?

today i tried out for the high school dance team and i didn't make it.i got really sad because i wanted to be in this really bad since i first saw them perform.i can dance way better than the girls they picked and i worked really hard.and most of the girls that they picked are white and skinny so i don't know if they are being racist just because im chubby and mexican. now i don't know what to do because i wanted to be involved in something in high school.i don't know if i should join a different club but i don't really like the other clubs.anyways,how do i get over not making it and do you think i should try out again next year or what

TRYOUT NEXT YEAR FOR SURE!!

Being an avid ballet dancer i got rejected for lots of top training schools. and each time it hurt but i just remember that i would get in somehow so i took more lessons and practiced tons.

So keep practicing and get really good so you can clearly see if they don't pick you because of racism.
If you really do suspect racism strongly, talk to the Principal!

The same thing happened to me. Well, no not the possibility of racism, but I didn't make my high school's team I really thought I would. I took 7 hours of dance a week, and I felt so helpless. I thought, was I actually bad? But I wasn't. At the auditions, I must have not stood out enough with my dancing. Sure enough, I was invited to my studio's dance team anyway, and I had wanted that more, but never thought I'd make it. So don't worry. There will be other opportunities. Also, color guard has dancing, along with drill, and cheering. They're all really fun. I was a cheerleader, and I have friends on the other two. Don't feel bad, the team is missing out not having you!
