How do the Democratic and Republican Party's keep such a stranglehold on the...

...American Electorate? Aren't there any independent thinkers out there anymore that can see through all the BS? I mean, you know that they are both in collusion to maintain the status quoe. Nothing will ever really change as long as either one is in power so, why do so many people blindly follow them?
