Is the Democratic Party Divided for Good? I see very little evidence that the party will rally around a nominee, especially if it's Obama. I think that Hillary's supporters would defect in very large numbers, if she were to lose. I think that similarly many Obama supporters would flee--but not as many as would leave Obama. I don't think that Hillary should quit, because frankly, she has a chance to win and neither candidate can win without superdelegate support. She will also have shown that she can win in the major swing states of Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania. She leads in the polls in those three states over McCain and Obama. I don' think that either candidate can win the GE without the other, yet, thanks to the electoral process, they cannot stand each other. I for one am so bitterly disgusted that I cannot vote for Obama. His supporters, many of whom I think are actually rightwingers, have made his candidacy much less palatable for me. His own supporters have taking their talking points from the rightwing... I said that many OBAMA supporters are either rightwing, or taking their rhetoric from the rightwing play book! Obama isn't rightwing. He's whacko wing. Sam, good point. I agree with that.

Senator Clinton's supporters will defect ONLY IF Obama is the nominee and does not have the class or political acumen to offer the VP to Senator Clinton. I think the great majority of us would vote for an Obama-Clinton ticket if Obama is the nominee. But a much larger number of Clinton supporters would vote for McCain if Obama is dumb enough not to include Senator Clinton on the ticket.

The more i think about it and look at all the administrations we have had since FDR i can only see one Democratic administration that was not a failure. "ONE" That was Trumans.-------JFK's gets an incomplete for obvious reasons. Id like someone anyone to give me an honest answer as to what was so great about the others! Please do! FDR-JFK-LBJ-Carter-Clinton? Id like to know just what did they accomplish other than failed "social" policies, economic disasters, wars, lies etc. Tell me id like to know?

I tend to agree with you ,Michael. THe nasty rhetoric that I have encountered on this site alone, has convinced me that obama will never be a viable choice for me.The people who support him and constantly harangue Hillary HAVE to get their cue from somewhere , and I think that the cue comes directly from the source of their support....obama
