Is the democratic party for union workers or for supporting illegal immigrant...

...workers? I'm confused. My parents and grandparents have always told me that the democratic party is for supporting unions and American workers. However, it seems that many democratic leaders and policies seem to support illegal immigrants or making things easier for illegals. Don't unions and other american workers perceive illegal immigrants to be a threat to their jobs? So, which side is the democratic party supporting and what are they doing to counter the other side?

A few decades ago, before the Reagan years, when unions were strong and the U.S. had manufacturing jobs, the Democratic party strongly supported unions. Sadly, none of these things are any longer the case.

But your question is more about prejudices about illegal immigrants, who take jobs no Americans actually want rather than competing for their high-paying union jobs. There are illegal immigrants keeping house, not manufacturing automobiles. I don't really see what supporting unions has to do with the immigration issue, though it has something to do with trade issues.

Democrats get massive funds from teacher unions for example, the parasitic unions ruining our public education system.

Most of the corrupt unions in the US support the Dems.

Yes, the liberals support mass uncontrolled immigration.

Politicians are RARELY courageous. They try to make as many people vote for them as possible. Therefore... this immigration issue has become SO huge that no Democrat dares stand up for the law, because they would then alienate millions of minority voters who may (or may not) be legal but who sympathize with the plight of the immigrants. Hell, I sympathize with them too. BUT... and this is a big "but"... we have to take care of our own before we start trying to save everyone else and we are NOT doing that right now.

Fact is... the ELITE rule America and have for a long time, but currently the plight of the poor has ceased to be a factor in their plans for maintaining their sway over the populous. They now have so much power that they can simply blow off all of the poor and stick to their own self serving guns.

The democrats are in a position, up against the right wing money grubbing republicans, where they MUST play the same game just to get into power.

Unfortunately, it is not likely they will do much with it once they get into power either. More of the same. If the Unions want a leader, it's time for one to rise up within their OWN ranks. They can no longer rely on politicians to ally with them.

It's time for a revolution. No kidding.

First the jobs have to be here in America to even worry about unions.
BUT YES Democrats are known for supporting and being supported by unions.
But Unions were almost completely devestated by Reagan's free trade with a communist country, and his North American Accord.

Neither. There is no strong labor union or labor movement in this country even though it is in great need. The Democratic party is for the corporations and for the increasing corporate power over the lives of Americans and increase in corporate profits just like the GOP is for the same thing. The only difference between the Dems and GOP is that the dems are just less blatently obvious about it.

The democratic party is about going after large pools of voters. Hispanics and the unions are big blocks. Its not about what is right. This is politics!
