Democrats are for drilling? What kind of alternate universe does one live in order to believe this?

It's the lying liberal universe!http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page=/Nation/archive/200509/NAT20050919a.htmlhttp://www.adn.com/anwr/story/42845.htmlhttp://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/06/about-100-prote.htmlhttp://www.planetark.org/dailynewsstory.cfm/newsid/49077/story.htmNothing like obstructing progress! Rather, democrats would cite the places where THEY want the oil companies to drill, not where private enterprise deems "profit worthy".I've already seen numerous liberal answers on YA that say they are glad gas is high!Even Obama said that $4/gal gas is good. He said some crap about, "it just went up too fast".ChiGuy: ALREADY ANSWERED THISOil companies will drill where it is VIABLE and PROFITABLE. Why do you hate progress and protest everywhere?

Why rip apart more land if you already have 68 million acres to choose from? Here is a map of the 68 Million acreshttp://www.speaker.gov/blog/?p=1406edit: ROFL! ==> So the US should simply give oil companies carte blanche to do as they please??? Sorry, I don't love corporations with that much devotion and trust.

Dems keep mentioning that there are already millions of acres available for drilling. Why do they suppose the oil companies aren't drilling there already? Could it be...I dunno...maybe that land doesn't HAVE ANY OIL!?

Pay attention to this example Libs! You see how he gave sources(links). He didn't just make things up and shoot his mouth off, he backed it up.

Yes. I'm for drilling. However, it also more advantageous for oil companies, in a free market to sit on the land.http://dwb.adn.com/money/industries/oil/story/8428749p-8323078c.html

It only makes sense to open up areas to drilling that are more likely to have enough oil to make drilling profitable."No one is sitting on leases these days," said Rayola Dougher, senior economic advisor for the American Petroleum Institute. "Those making those assertions don't understand the bidding and leasing process."Gheit agrees that it's unlikely that hoarding is going on. With prices at $135 dollars a barrel, everyone is trying to pump as much as they can, he said. But fearing oil prices will eventually fall, the industry is leery about making too many investments in the fields it has - many of which are in deepwater areas that can be pricey to develop.Instead, they're holding out, hoping the government will open areas closer to shore that would be cheaper to work on.
