| Hillary Clinton Supporters - Why does she seem content to destroy the... ...Democratic Party to win? Obama has significant leads in total popular vote, pledge delegates, and has gained signifcantly in superdelegates, to the point where he's almost pulled even there. Hillary would have to win all the remaining states by at least a 60/40 type margin to overtake his lead. She's taken this kitchen sink approach where her camp keeps changing the rules with regards to how to view her chances, trys to convince us that pledge delegates could change their votes, using the electoral college and everything else, most of which has no point. Her camp has made several statements that strongly imply that if she can't win, she'd rather have McCain win than her fellow democrat, Barack Obama, when Obama's proposed policies are much more similar to Hillary's than McCains. She's fighting a battle that it would be almost impossible for her to win, and if she did, it would clearly cause more damage in the process than any gain from victory. Is there a legitmate defense for her behavior? I'm not suggesting that her staying in the race is wrong in and of itself. If she wants to stay in the race until the convention, she's certainly within her right to do so. The problem I have is with the tactics she's using to do it. In my mind, she seems to be perfectly happy to cross the line from "political gamesmanship" into the dirty, unethical, realm of things. |
