Democratic Party: Why are they seeking to be self defeatists with the war on terror?

I love the comments from the liberals on the thread.. Just look at the comments from henry reid "We will never win the war in Iraq"

We can also look at what osama stated "Americans will be weak and call from the end of the war"

Weak=liberals

I also point to the banners from code pink.. a liberal organization "Shoot officers in the back"

Its a fact that the liberals would relish at losing the war because they sided with the terrorists from the start. If the right wins, it would devastating to the left, since they have sided with defeat from the start.
I also forgot BDS.. the liberals would easily accept defeat if it were to spite bush

Definition of Self Defeat: Throwing $12 billion a month at a failed attempt to democratize a country you know nothing about for 5 straight years.

Stop calling yourself a conservative. You support the largest welfare program in US history, and the benefits are going to foreigners. Bush is a globalist liberal, so are you.

The 'war' in question has been cast as a republican political cause, so, if it fails, the democrats would be at a political advatnage. That it means the 'defeat' of the country, itself, doesn't come into the political calculation, since the objective is to rule the country, and the state the country is in isn't relevant, as long as your party is in control.

Why do Republicans confuse fighting smart with defeatism?

The US military accomplished every militarily acheivable objective in Iraq with the capture of Sadam in December of 2003. All our still being there accomplishes is to make the country a magnet for every idiot in the Islamic World who seeks immortality through martyrdom and prolong the Civil War because the Factions can commit their attrocties and then hide behind the US Marines. As long as we are there trying to hold the sides apart, they have no incentive to settle.

In the meantime, overdeployment is degrading our forces and countries like Iran, Sudan and North Korea are free to thumb their noses at us, secure in the knowledge that we've nothing left to send.

Democrats understand this, because they are 3 times more likely than Republicans to have served. Troops that are bogged down in an occupation don't deter anyone. We either need to pull out of Iraq OR build a much larger Army and find a way to pay for it. Republicans won't do either as long as they can get away with violating Recruitment Contracts.

The knowledge that a large multi-national force could show up unexpectedly used to keep a lot of Peace. It could again if our military is freed up and given time to rebuild while our diplomats work to regain the trust of our allies.

Well, for one thing, you're wrong.
I have never heard any democrat say we shouldn't be fighting the war on terror.
I have heard some say we should get out of Iraq, but that's only 1 battlefront in the war on terror, not the entire "war" on terror. Even your beloved Bush calls Iraq the "central battle"; not the ONLY battle.
Get your story straight.
