pregnancy and dental work?

ahhh i have a toothache.....im curious if i needed to get a filling or root canal.....can that be done while pregnant? its not major..im just wondering if it gets to that point.

whats okay and what isnt?

im 23 weeks by the way.

they do an x-ray, you can get Novocaine, have your teeth cleaned and some more stuff right now. consult your dentist but i think after 30 weeks they won't do anything for you. not even an oral exam because you gotta have an x-ray.

it is more important to have your teeth taken care of during pregnancy than in any other time of your life. you absolutely can get dental work done while pregnant and your teeth are so much more prone to problems when you are pregnant. take perfect care of your teeth, my sister is in dental hygiene school.

you should really talk to your doctor about it. i'm sure a filling wouldn't be so bad [all they do is numb your gums], but i'm not sure about the root canal.

You can have an extraction and you can have your tooth filled while pregnant but you can't be put under for dental work and my Dr said no root canals.
