My ex wife has been meeting with lawyers, our divorce has been finished for 3 yrs. Is she up to something??

I'm a single father of FOUR, my mother moved in with me to help me raise my children. My wife (ex wife) cheated on me and left us. When we got a divorce, all she wanted was her car, and joint custody which I gave her. I got a home equity loan to pay off her bills prior to our divorce, and she promised to pay that back (1100.00 a month). During the divorce they labeled that as CHILD SUPPORT and so she pays that and NOTHING else, she knows it's for her loan and she knows she doesn't contribute ANYTHING to the childrens school, dental, medical, nothing. Now she wants to be able to claim 2 of the kids on her income tax, and she's been meeting with lawyers recently to try and "redo" the divorce settlements. She's now with the man she was cheating on me with, who's a Dr. and a shiester. I don't know why she's been meeting with lawyers but it's definately about me, the kids, and money. Any ideas what she may be up to? (Sorry for the LONG ASS QUESTION!)Can she get custody of the children if I'm a good dad? Just because she gets re-married? Can she modify the child support agreement? She has almost stopped working completely just because she thinks that since i make more than her, she doesn't need to pay me. But I'm really concerned that she would now try to take the kids away from me.

She's either trying to get the "child support" reduced or considering going after full custody. Either way, better get a lawyer so he/she can converse with hers.

She's up to something. What a sleeze! Not a good answer to your question but you are NOT wrong in feeling the way you do. Talk to your own lawyer. I love to kick her a$$

sounds like she might b getting the lawyer to remodify the child support for some reason....if she doesnt have physical custody maybe she wants that....whatever it is it has to b regarding the children cause she cant touch anything else...

she might. do some research, protect yourself and from what you've presented (which is of course biased) it seems like she's the one at fault. if she wants to claim the kids on her income tax it will of course give her a break but if she hasnt been contributing at all, then make sure you dont let her. i'm sorry for your misfortune and best of luck!

Maybe she is getting married and wants custody of the children now. I would contact the lawyer you had when you got divorced. Your going to need him.

take as much money out of the back as u can, but leave so much u can pay ur bills for a couple months...HIDE IT. H-I-D-E I-T. like, a good spot, not under the mattress. but I mean, reaaaaaallly hide it. maybe even get it in a cashiers check so it's nice and easy to carry around? put it in a lock deposit box.This is America. 2cd, start going through credit card and bank statements showing and make notes and copies and tally up how much, when, and where u paid for ur childrens things. toys, shoes, medical, hell, MickyD's...Be smart. You have her kids and her money. Show her who's the boss in that house.

It could be about anything.. could be she wants the c/s lowered.. could be she wants more time with the kids (full residential custody possibly) , could be the tax deductions as id think with him being a Dr. he probably needs all the tax credit he can get .. My father always says, dont worry till u have something to worry about.. if she does anything u will have to counter and as long as you've been a great dad which it sounds like u have she cant do anything to touch u.. but worrying and assuming, are just driving u crazy.... just wait and see what she does.. and perhaps retain a lawyer for when the time comes that she trys to pull anything.. but dont worry yet.. And I just want to say Kudos to u, being a single father of 4.. well done
